How Secure Set works
Transformer pads are subject to many environmental conditions. Soil erosion and settling can cause a transformer to lean and place strain on the connected wires. Traditional methods of using hand tools to backfill eroded soil are ineffective and often result in a further erosion with the next rain event. By comparison, Secure Set Pad Leveling spray foam is pressurized and can be easily injected into voids. The foam then expands and hardens, eliminating the need for compaction. Once hardened (60 minutes) the foam is a solid structure and will not erode like soil when subjected to environmental conditions.
Secure Set Pad Leveling Foam is a closed-cell self-curing foam and dual component MDI based polyurethane. The high strength 2-part expanding foam boasts a lightweight closed-cell structure which makes it useful for quickly filling voids. This almost magical solution foam can also be used to seal around pipes, ducts, electrical conduits, and utility boxes to block the passage of air, dust, water, gasses, and insects.
No wonder GRA’s Secure Set has been adopted by many municipalities and utility providers as a powerful alternative to concrete or compacted soil.
CFC free – the responsible choice
The long name for CFCs is chlorofluorocarbons. This type of odorless manufactured chemical was often found in refrigerators and air conditioners, foam food packaging, fire extinguishers, and aerosols.
After a while it was discovered that CFCs were damaging the earth’s ozone layer, thereby contributing to global warming. Added to that, inhaling leaking emissions and touching some types of CFCs led to short- and long-term health issues in people who were exposed to it. In 1996 CFCs were banned around the world.
As convenient as Secure Set is to spray (or pour) into place, you can rest assured that your crew and the environment are safe from CFCs as this product is CFC-free.
