Underground, or subsurface, utilities such as electricity distribution lines, telecommunication and cable television lines are public service infrastructures that are installed beneath the surface of the ground. The reasons may be functional or aesthetic, but the installation and maintenance are always a lot more involved than overhead utilities. Digging up the area above the utility lines is a tedious, time-consuming, and expensive task.

For that reason, the relevant public utility companies need an adhesive which they can rely on to do the job properly the first time.

Acrylic adhesive - an effective underground solution for utilities

An acrylic adhesive for underground utility use needs to have the following qualities:

Flexible. One product that can bond dissimilar materials lightens the load of your gear. PE Fusion designed for the coupling and splicing of a variety of conduits - HDPE pipe to standard PVC couplings and even other non-standard materials like aluminum, steel, and fiberglass. 



Please note, however, that PE Fusion is not a suitable acrylic adhesive for natural gas transmission pipes.

Strong. A high-strength bond that does not break if the joint is stressed or impacted means that further digging is not needed. PE Fusion creates a strong, lasting bond between PE and PVC.

Reliable. A mechanical bond is vulnerable to failure. PE Fusion is a modified acrylic adhesive that chemically bonds polyolefin to other dissimilar materials for a join you can rely on. 

Fast-acting. Time is money. Depending on the ambient temperature, PE Fusion sets in three to five minutes and cures completely within 24 hours.

Economical. Not only is PE Fusion longer-lasting than mechanical couplings, but it is more cost-effective too. Any adhesive remaining in the cartridge can be saved for future applications.
